-- HISTORY (Spring of 2000)

After having been on this forum for two months, I was already tired of the same questions and discussions coming up over and over again. I plead guilty to doing the same thing myself, but only for subjects that haven't been discussed for 2-4 months!. I can only imagine how patient Richard and Jim must have to be to continually endure and politely answer the questions! :)

Anyway, I'm going to start off the Forum FAQ. I have researched many different subjects, including searching back into past posts, and have compiled a starting list of questions or hot topics, with answers and/or links to past threads for each.

Feel free to correct my mistakes, or add new hot subjects from the past that I did not include.

We have a very limited list of people who can post new material here (and they already know who they are). Therefore, if you have ideas for new entries to the Forum FAQ, you can post them to the following thread:
http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9590 .

We will be notified by email whenever someone adds a post to that thread, no matter where it falls in the main forum. Then, we will merge in new ideas to the existing topics in the Forum FAQ, as time permits.

Anyone who wants to do the research to post additional hot topics here, please keep 'em coming. Anytime you find yourself saying "I've heard that one before - too many times", think about putting together a posting for this FAQ. Again, a summary and a list of important relevant thread links would be ideal.

Thanks again for all the positive feedback. And feel free to copy material elsewhere, as we have done extensively here. We've tried to keep people's names attached to give them credit, but I know we have missed some of you. Thanks, anyway.
